Sunday racing in Reno for the JM2 drivers was all about speed and getting the fastest laps of the weekend. ICON Vehicle Dynamics driver Brock Heger started the Pro Lite race on the pole and pulled out a lead quick, only to be red flagged and started 2 more times. Brock was very comfortable starting and leading the field. The race had several more cautions, re starts and even a water break mid race??? After the “water break” re start Brock made a slight mistake clipping the inside K rail in turn 2 resulting in a front flat. The Hot Pit Crew was on it once again and got the # 12 back on the track on the leap lap with 2 to go. Heger drove the wheels off the truck and managed a seventh place after leading most of the race. “All in all it was a great weekend. I led the race both days, I got a flat tire both days and I got the fastest lap both days!” Brock said after the race with a laugh and a smile.
Jeremy McGrath had a solid performance on Sunday finishing in the second place position. Jeremy had this to say when asked about his results and trip to Reno. “Reno has been tough for me this last two years. I love the track and always feel fast but the K rails keep jumping out and biting me. I’m happy to be on the box and racing up front with Rob Mac. He’s a great driver and we always keep it clean. This Maxxis tires truck was hooking up and the Vic Hill race engine was pulling hard. I am happy with a second place finish and getting the Fastest lap of the weekend.”
Jeremy McGrath Motorsports team will be racing at Lake Elsinore CA on Sept 23rd and 24th. This is our home track so come join us for night racing under the lights.
